What to expect

Prenatal Care

Prenatal visits are intentionally unhurried, allowing space to discuss your physical health, emotional well-being, growing baby, and any concerns that arise along the way.

From your first prenatal visit through postpartum recovery, our goal is to provide evidence-based care, open communication, and compassionate support—so you can approach birth feeling informed, prepared, and empowered.

Monthly appointments from 12 weeks to 28 weeks

Expect monthly appointments up to 28 weeks, we ensure consistent monitoring and guidance to promote your and your baby's health.

Bi-weekly appointments until 36 weeks

As your pregnancy progresses, we increase the frequency of appointments to bi-weekly sessions until you reach 36 weeks. These appointments allow us to closely monitor any changes and address any concerns that arise, ensuring your peace of mind as you prepare for labor.

Home visit at 36-37 weeks

At 36-37 weeks we come to your home. This visit allows us to familiarize ourselves with your home environment and provide advice and support as you approach the final stages of pregnancy.

Weekly appointments from 36 weeks until birth

From the 36th week until birth, we schedule weekly appointments to ensure continuous monitoring of your well-being and the progress of your pregnancy. These regular check-ins offer opportunities for us to discuss any new needs, provide support, and prepare you mentally and physically for birth as you approach the eagerly awaited arrival of your baby.

Labs and Ultrasounds

Labs and ultrasounds can be a valuable tool to assess your and your baby's health. We spend time at your prenatal appointments going over both the risks and benefits of screening and diagnostic tests. Our licensure and training equips us to order and interpret labs and ultrasounds.

Postpartum Care

In-home mother and baby appointments for the first 1-2 weeks

The first few weeks post delivery are crucial to your mental and physical health. Expect a mother and newborn checkup within 24 to 48 hours post delivery from a midwife or nurse in the comfort of your home. We don’t want you leaving the house until you’re ready.

Newborn primary care up to 28 days old

We will evaluate the overall health of your new baby through the first 4 weeks. Addressing any concerns or issues that arise and celebrating the first milestones!

We want to support you the best way possible on your breastfeeding journey. Our midwives and nurses will provide the best care possible for you and your baby from establishing a proper latch, identifying any obstacles to breastfeeding, and providing the guidance needed for a successful breastfeeding experience. Furthermore, Moira is an IBCLC, so if your breastfeeding journey is more complex, she will readily assist you.
